One Year Blogiversary

Hey darlings, today is my one year blogiversary! Wow, just….wow!

I can’t believe that on this day in 2016, 16-year-old me decided to dive into the world of bloggers. *sighs* Such a small fish in a big ocean. 🙂

Thank you SO much to all of you lovely people who follow my blog (even though I have been very sporadic with my posts)! I will now send you all a virtual hug:

Since I don’t really know what else to put on this post, I will just give you all a “Currently” list so you can see what I’ve been up to.

Currently I’m:

Feeling: Happy (cause of my blogiversary)  and tired (cause of work)! Also I’ve been HIGHLY annoyed lately with 90% of the people on social media talking about their marches and finding the smallest things to complain about. They say “No hate” but are constantly being a bunch of bigots by hating on Trump. *rolls eyes* Like, go up to Canada and please rid us of your stupidity! Thank you!

Every time on look on the news or Instagram I just:

(Sorry not sorry for the mini rant….)

Watching: The Office, A Series of Unfortunate Events (which is really hard for me to get into right now), Victoria, and The Man in the High Castle.

Reading: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain.

Writing: In my Bullet Journal! I got one a few weeks ago and I love it! I think I have system down, but I might be tweaking it a bit. 😉

Listening To: The Crown soundtrack.

Wondering: What I’m gonna do after I graduate in June… -_-

Buying: Stuff from redbubble.com. A lot of my friends’ birthdays are coming up in the next couple of weeks and I’m trying to save money to spend on their gifts, but like, the Too Faced Semi Sweet Palette is calling, so I just look at it on my Ulta app like….

(If you’re a makeup addict, you can see my dilemma)

Well, that’s it for today’s post! (I hope you liked all the gifs) Again, a HUGE THANK YOU to all my followers! I couldn’t have gotten this far without y’all.

Have an amazing day! ❤

Happy New Year

Yeah, I know we’re more than a week into 2017, but this is my first post of the new year so… :/ Anyway I still can’t believe 2017 is already here! 😀 I remember the first time I found out I was going to graduate in 2017 I was in second grade and I thought to myself,“Man, who’s even going to be alive then?” Apparently me! XD Man, how time flies.

I’m really nervous but very excited to see what this year brings. It’s funny how everyone complains about how 2016 was the worst year, when in reality it was actually a really good year!

Some highlights of 2016 were:

– Grace Vanderwaal

– The Olympics

– More Marvel movies

– The Fever Code (by James Dashner)

– Stranger Things and much more!

And also it was personally a good year for me! Although there was a LOT of change:

– I started this blog

– I got my first job

– I got my driver’s permit

– We stopped going to our homeschool tutorial that we went to for the past 3 years

– I turned 17 :):

– I finally read all the LOTR books

– I got a Ukulele (which I still have yet to name…)

– I became a senior in high school

Woah. What a year.

And since I can’t remember what my stats were before 2016 ended, here are my stats now:

I think these stats are pretty great for this past year! I can’t thank y’all enough! ❤

Also, my one year Blogiversary is coming up on the 30th (at least I think it’s on the 30th anyway :P). I’m not sure if I’ll do anything special for it, but I’ll be brainstorming! 🙂

So how was your 2016? What are some things you are looking toward to this year? I hope y’all have a great 2017! ❤

Work Christmas Party

This past Monday, my job decided to close the restaurant early (around 6pm) for our first Christmas party! We got to eat pizza and snacks/desserts. We played this game called “Big Wind Blows” and it was super fun, but kinda scary cause when everyone would get up it was hard not to get trampled on! XD Here’s a couple pictures of me and some of my co-workers/friends:

We had Secret Santa and I ended up getting a $25 gift card to Barnes and Noble. Afterwards we did the Mannequin Challenge which kinda failed but was pretty funny (might take down soon)!

The party ended at 9pm (which it had actually started at 7) but they had an afterparty which ended at 11pm. The people that stayed for the afterparty played video games and just chatted. I left around 10:30pm. Overall I had a blast hanging out with my friends! Miss it already! ❤

Product Review: yes to Facial Wipes

Today I will be reviewing the “yes to cucumbers: Hypoallergenic Facial Wipes“.

product photo

Website’s Description: Yes To Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Facial Wipes gently remove dirt, sweat and makeup (eye makeup too!) without the need to rinse.

Where I Purchased Item: Walgreens

My Thoughts: I had heard about these wipes from some beauty bloggers, and decided to give these a try. I’m so glad I did! I had actually got them when we went out of town and I didn’t want to have to take my bottle of makeup remover (which it works better than). It takes off my eye makeup with ease. They feel so cleansing and smell really fresh!

Cons: The only con I can think of is the price. For a pack of 30 wipes it’s $5.99. I think that’s a bit pricey for my personal preference. If these were cheaper, I’d definitely buy these more often!

My Rating: 10/10

Summary: You should definitely give these wipes a try! I know you’ll love these just as much as I do. 🙂

Book Review: Tolkien’s Trilogy End

Today’s book review is on “The Return of the King” by J.R.R. Tolkien. It is the third book in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy.

The Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien // Review

As the Shadow of Mordor grows across the land, the Companions of the Ring have become involved in separate adventures. Aragorn, revealed as the hidden heir of the ancient Kings of the West, has joined with the Riders of Rohan against the forces of Isengard, and takes part in the desperate victory of the Hornburg. Merry and Pippin, captured by Orcs, escape into Fangorn Forest and there encounter the Ents. Gandalf has miraculously returned and defeated the evil wizard, Saruman. Sam has left his master for dead after a battle with the giant spider, Shelob; but Frodo is still alive — now in the foul hands of the Orcs. And all the while the armies of the Dark Lord are massing as the One Ring draws ever nearer to the Cracks of Doom. -From Goodreads

Genre: Fantasy // Fiction // Sci-fi // Classics // Young Adult

My Thoughts: Although it is a close tie with the first book, this one is my favorite book in the trilogy! It’s definitely a tear-jerker, but I love it! You get to see how the characters act in the face of danger and how everyone deals with their own problems.

Writing Style: Pretty easy for a classic. Very descriptive.

Story Line: I loved most of the story line! There was definitely a lot of action in this book.  The part that seemed to drag on for me was when Sam and Frodo were trudging their way to Mt. Doom. Maybe it was just me, but it felt like forever! But I totally understand, cause it was a long way to go.

Characters: We still see that more characters are introduced. I love pretty much everyone except Frodo and Denethor. *ugh!* Tbh, I actually like Sam a little less in the books…

Favorite Part: Such a tough decision! I’ll just say that I liked the battles and the Shire part. 😉

Cons: From what I can recall, there weren’t any cons.

My Rating: 5 Stars *****

Conclusion: Okay, if you’ve read all of my reviews on the LOTR trilogy and still haven’t decided to read them, then what are doing here! Go read them! You will not be disappointed. And if you have read them (or at least one), let me know what you thought of it! Later darlings! ❤

Movie Review: The Little Prince

Today’s movie review is on “The Little Prince”.

Image result for the little prince movie

Film Summary (taken from Google): “The Aviator introduces a girl to a world where she rediscovers her childhood and learns that it’s human connections that matter most, and that it is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

When I saw it: August 5th

Where I saw it: Netflix

My Thoughts: I had been waiting to watch this since I first saw the trailer last year. And boy, was it worth the wait! (I literally cried during every trailer that came out…no joke) This movie is now one of my favorite movies of all time! (I’ve actually seen it 3 times since it came out.) I laughed, I cried, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching this movie. I don’t normally cry during movies/shows unless it really hits me, so “The Little Prince” did just that. And the cast did a spectacular job! I’ve noticed that it has not been the first recently animated movie that is just geared towards kids. As a teenager, I could definitely relate to the part about ‘growing up and forgetting’. It really made me want to go back to the innocence of being a kid and just having fun.

Animation: I loved how the animation would change as they would talk about the Little Prince! Although it wasn’t as ‘smooth’ as Pixar’s animation, it was definitely great quality.

Positive Elements: It reminds us to have a childlike attitude in this society where nowadays everything is so fast-paced and kids are being forced to grow up quicker.

Negative Elements: The one and, I think, only thing I didn’t like about this movie was that it said,“…it is only with the heart that one can see rightly”. A lot of things in society have been pushing  the whole,“Follow Your Heart” agenda, when scripture specifically tells us,“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9-KJV) It is blatantly going against what The Bible says. So next time you think about saying ‘follow your heart’, think again.

Music: Oh my gosh, I can’t even begin to describe my love for this soundtrack (I’m actually listening to it right now)! *squeals* The music was composed by Hans Zimmer (one of my favorites EVER!) and Richard Harvey with this French singer named Camille. I love Hans and I love French music, so could it get any better?! XD

Rating: 10/10 Stars **********

Conclusion: *sighs* I wish I could put all of my love that I have for this movie into more words, but I can’t. So all I can do now is recommend this movie for you to watch (and don’t forget the tissues if you’re like me)! And if you don’t have Netflix, at least watch the trailers.

// Well I hope that you enjoyed my first movie review! If you have watched it already, please let me know what you thought about it. I’d love to know! Later darlings! ❤
